The Farming Life Centre

Can We Help You?

At The Farming Life Centre our aim is to provide information and support for the farming and rural community in the Peak District.

We know that when you are affected by ongoing health issues, cancer, or life limiting conditions, it is a difficult time, with challenges that affect not only you, but your family and your business too. Having the right information and support at the right time is essential to help you to cope and make informed choices.

Our Macmillan Rural Health Outreach Service (MRHOS) is free of charge and is available to you and to your carers, family and friends. We offer the opportunity to talk in confidence to our Service Coordinator, Jane Butler, who is there to listen to your worries and concerns. Many people find that by simply talking though their situation with us they are able to discover new and better ways of coping.

We hold a fortnightly drop-in session on market day at Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre, where you can call in for a chat, a bit of light refreshment, and pick up information on sources of support available in the local area.

Our telephone befriending service is available to those who are housebound or feel isolated and would like regular telephone contact with a befriender.

Get in touch, in confidence:
